Tianjin Sino-German University of Applied Sciences is the first domestic university of applied technology approved by the Ministry of Education. Its predecessor is Tianjin Sino-German Vocational and Technical College. The merger and establishment of the center is the largest cooperation project between the governments of China, Germany, Japan, and Spain in the field of vocational education and training. The school is located in Tianjin Haihe Education Park on the coast of the Bohai Sea and is under the jurisdiction of the Tianjin Municipal Government.
In May 2013, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, President of the State, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission visited the Tianjin Vocational Skills Public Training Center of Haihe Education Park and had a cordial exchange with teachers and students of our school. In October 2014, Premier Li Keqiang of the State Council visited Germany to participate in the 7th China-Germany Economic and Technical Cooperation Forum. He presented the "Luban lock" made by our students as a national gift to German Chancellor Merkel, greatly enhancing the influence of vocational education. . In June 2008, June 2013 and May 2017, Liu Yandong, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, visited our school three times during the National Skills Competition. The school covers an area of 1,000 acres, with a building area of 294,400 square meters, 259 integrated teaching and doing experiments and training sites, and more than 20,000 sets of equipment in the school, of which a large number of advanced production equipment imported from Germany, Switzerland, and Spain , Worth more than 400 million yuan, follow the concept of "cultivating the best talents with the most advanced equipment" practice teaching, and create a multi-level "teaching factory" model for various professional groups.
The school's undergraduate, higher vocational and technical education education covers 9 majors such as advanced manufacturing technology, automation technology, aerospace technology and services, transportation technology and services, software and communication technology, new energy, economic and trade management, cultural creativity and technology, and applied languages. Group, there are currently 14 undergraduate majors, 39 higher vocational majors, and 2 secondary vocational majors. There are nearly 10,000 students in the school, the employment rate of graduates has exceeded 98% for three consecutive years, and the annual non-academic education and training scale has exceeded 20,000.
There are 682 faculty members in the school, among which 43.2% are full-time teachers with titles of associate professor and above, and 75.9% are full-time teachers with a master's degree or above. Each professional group is equipped with foreign experts and visiting professors. There are 10 distinguished professors from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Tsinghua University, Nankai University, Xi’an Jiaotong University, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and more than 60 guest professors.
