Nankai University is a key comprehensive university directly under the Ministry of Education and the alma mater of the beloved Premier Zhou Enlai. Nankai University was founded by Yan Xiu and Zhang Boling adhering to the idea of saving the country through education. It was founded in 1904 and was established in 1919. In 1937, the campus was bombed by the Japanese invaders, and the school moved south. In 1938, the Southwest Associated University was formed with Peking University and Tsinghua University, and it was known as the "Beichen University". In 1946, he returned to Tianjin and re-established school and was renamed as a national institution.
