Tianjin Urban Construction University is a general higher education school affiliated to Tianjin City. It was founded in 1978. It was formerly known as the Fourth Branch of Tianjin University and relied on Tianjin University to provide undergraduate education. In 1979, it was renamed Tianjin University Construction Branch School. In 1987, it was renamed Tianjin Urban Construction. The college was renamed Tianjin Urban Construction University in 2013. In 1998, the school was approved as a master's degree granting unit, realizing an improvement in the level of running a school; in 2007, the school was approved as an engineering master's training unit.
