【Long history】
The predecessor of Hebei University of Technology was the Beiyang Institute of Technology, founded in 1903. It was the earliest institution of higher learning to train industrial talents in my country and established the earliest university-run factory in the country. In 1929, it was renamed Hebei Provincial Institute of Technology, and in 1995 it was renamed Hebei University of Technology. Over the past 118 years, the school has always been adhering to the school-running tradition of "prospering work and serving the country" and the spirit of "diligence, prudence, justice and loyalty". In 1996, the school ranked among the first batch of national "211 Project" key construction universities; in 2014, it was jointly established by Hebei Province, Tianjin City and the Ministry of Education; in 2017, it was selected as a national "double first-class" construction university.
