Shanghai Aurora Vocational College is a full-time college approved by the Shanghai Municipal People's Government and reported to the Ministry of Education for the record. In 1903, the famous educator Ma Xiangbo founded "China's first private university-Aurora University"; in 1984, Ms. Zhang Huili inherited the educational philosophy of the pioneer of patriotic education and founded "Aurora Education". After completing the preliminary exploration of private education, Zhang Huili did not forget her original intention to organize higher education and became one of the pioneers in the development of higher education after my country's reform and opening up.
Adhering to the school motto of "Advocating science, focusing on literature and art, and not teaching theory" advocated by Mr. Ma Xiangbo, the college has cultivated a good teaching style, style of study and school spirit, and the level of school running and the quality of talent training have been highly recognized by the society. "Aurora Education" is "Shanghai City famous trademark". In 2019, our school became the only private school in Shanghai that has obtained a five-year consistent school system, and it is also one of the six private high-quality higher vocational colleges that have obtained the qualification for expansion.
In 2018, in accordance with the “Decision of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress on Amending the “Law of the People’s Republic of China on the Promotion of Private Education” and the “Detailed Rules for the Implementation of Classification and Registration of Private Schools”, Aurora selected for-profit schools to promote school development. The college is unique in psychological counseling and moral education. Huang Xijian is currently the party secretary and professor of Aurora Vocational College. He is a famous teacher of mental health education in Shanghai, honorary president and director of the expert committee of the Shanghai University Psychological Counseling Association, and the National College Student Psychological Counseling Professional Committee Deputy director.
