Alxa Vocational and Technical College is a full-time general higher vocational college approved by the People’s Government of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and filed by the Ministry of Education in January 2011. It is under the dual management of the Education Department of the Autonomous Region and the Administrative Office of Alxa League. It is the only higher institution in the local area. School. The history of the college can be traced back to the 1950s. The Alxa League Health School was established in 1959, the Alxa League Normal School was established in 1978, the Alxa League Branch of Inner Mongolia Radio and Television University was established in 1979, and the Alxa League Technical School was established in 1981. . In 2000, the above four schools merged to form Alxa Radio and Television University (with the brand of Alxa Teacher Training Center). In March 2013, Alxa Radio and Television University, Alxa Economic Development Zone Secondary Vocational School and Azuoqi Vocational Secondary Vocational School merged to formally establish Alxa Vocational and Technical College. In 2016, the Alxa League Amateur Sports School was merged into the college, and the historic merger of eight schools has been completed.
The college currently runs schools on four campuses in Bayanhot and Ustai, covering a total area of 594 acres. The basic facilities such as the teaching building, comprehensive experimental training building, gymnasium, library, and student apartment building are complete. There are more than 30 training bases. The new Bayanhot campus under construction covers an area of 167 acres and a planned building area of 58,000 square meters. It is expected to be put into use in March 2018. The college has medical and nursing departments, economics and art departments, mechanical and electrical engineering departments, chemical engineering departments, continuing education colleges, basic departments, physical education teaching departments, training departments, network information centers and other teaching and auxiliary departments, as well as 10 management departments. There are 17 higher vocational majors and 7 majors for stable enrollment; 28 secondary vocational majors and 12 majors for stable enrollment; the National Open University (Faculty of Continuing Education) has 22 undergraduate majors. There are currently 5364 students, including: 2278 full-time students (including 1056 vocational students and 1222 secondary vocational students), 3,086 undergraduate and junior college students enrolled in TV universities and adult education; 420 in-service faculty members, of which: There are 4 full professors, 101 associate professors, 25 master's degree teachers, 19 master's degree teachers, and 106 "dual-qualified" teachers.
