Chifeng Vocational and Technical College (formerly Inner Mongolia Vocational and Technical College) was established in 1995; the institute was established in 1996. In April 2006, it was approved by the People's Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Neizhengzi (2006) No. 119 and the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China [2006] No. 11 for the record, changed its name to Chifeng Vocational and Technical College. The college is a full-time general higher education institution with a national economic education sequence and a unified national enrollment.
The college currently covers an area of 100 acres, with a total construction area of 30,000 square meters. The total value of infrastructure and teaching experimental facilities is more than 100 million yuan. There are more than 200 full-time and part-time teachers and 2,776 students at all levels and types. At present, in order to expand the scale of running a school, the college has raised funds from various aspects and plans to acquire 500 acres of new land for the construction of a new campus. The construction of the new campus is carried out in two phases. The first phase of the project mainly includes a comprehensive teaching building, a professional teaching building, a student apartment building, an experimental center, a library, a canteen, a supermarket, a gymnasium, a campus network, and a standard plastic sports field. The second phase of the project mainly includes professional teaching buildings, student apartment buildings, canteens, supermarkets, academic lecture halls, professional laboratories, and college student activity centers. The new campus has a construction area of 200,000 square meters in two phases, a higher vocational technical college that can accommodate 10,000 students. The total investment of the college’s infrastructure and teaching experimental facilities and equipment is about 350 million yuan
