History


   The predecessor of Inner Mongolia Art Academy was the Inner Mongolia Art School, a national key art secondary school established in 1957. In 1957, under the personal advocacy of Comrade Buhe, then Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Cultural Bureau, the Inner Mongolia Art School was established, opening a new chapter in Inner Mongolia's national art education.


   In the mid-1980s, in order to meet the needs of economic and social development for high-level artistic talents, the autonomous region government requested the State Education Commission to approve the establishment of the Art College of Inner Mongolia University. On March 27, 1987, the State Education Commission issued (87) Jiao Ji Zi No. 067 document, approving the establishment of the Inner Mongolia University Art College, which is still retained as the secondary school of the Art College.


   In 1994, with the approval of the Education Department of the Autonomous Region, the Art College of Inner Mongolia University began to enroll undergraduate students.


   At the end of 2001, Inner Mongolia University College of Art and Inner Mongolia University realized a substantive merger. The construction and development of the college continues to be a relatively independent operating mechanism, operating independently in terms of people, finances, materials, and school running, forming a complete construction system. Since the merger, in the construction and development process of Inner Mongolia University’s "211 Project", the provincial and ministerial joint university plan, and the central and western universities’ comprehensive strength enhancement plan, the college has been involved in discipline construction, personnel training, scientific research, etc., especially in the construction of degree programs. It has achieved rapid development, and the school-running strength and level of running a school have been further improved.


   In 2004, the School of Art of Inner Mongolia University began to train master students.


In 2012, the People’s Government of the Autonomous Region decided to report to the Ministry of Education for approval of the Inner Mongolia University College of Art to be independently established as the Inner Mongolia College of Art in accordance with the needs of the economic and social development of the autonomous region and the construction of a strong ethnic culture for the development of national culture. .


In April 2015, the Ministry of Education issued a "Letter from the Ministry of Education on Approving the Establishment of the Inner Mongolia Art Institute" (Jiaofahan [2015] No. 72), and the Ministry of Education "approved the establishment of the Inner Mongolia Art Institute on the basis of the Inner Mongolia University Art Institute (Resources)" . In August 2015, the autonomous region government issued a document "Notice of the People's Government of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on the establishment of the Inner Mongolia Academy of Art and the Ordos Institute of Applied Technology" (Nei Zhengfa [2015] No. 90), officially approving the independent establishment of the Inner Mongolia Academy of Art.


   In January 2017, the Party Committee of the Autonomous Region appointed the first school leadership team. In December 2017, the establishment of institutions and the appointment of cadres in the school were completed.

Since its establishment, the Inner Mongolia Academy of Arts has relied on the autonomous region’s rich national artistic resources and profound national cultural heritage, and has always adhered to the excellent school-running tradition of cultivating national artistic talents. It has formed a foothold in Inner Mongolia, inheriting and developing Mongolian art It represents the distinctive school-running characteristics of northern minority art, prosperity and promotion of grassland culture, and is hailed as "the cradle of ethnic art talents" within and outside the region. Cumulatively, it has trained more than 50,000 artists of all levels and types for the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and some provinces and municipalities. Talents, these graduates are active in the field of culture and art at home and abroad, many of them have become the backbone of the art academy, radio, film and television departments, and some have had a greater influence in the domestic and foreign art fields, such as the composer Alat Ole, Singers De Dema, Ra Su Rong, Tengger, folk music performer Li Zhen, conductor Yaren Gerile, conductor, composer and music producer Sanbao, dancers Ao Ten Geriel, Kang Shaohui, film actors Sarengaowa, film and television director Kang Honglei, painters Li Decai, Li Xuefeng, Li Bo, Han Wenzhong, famous host Nathan, etc.


   Teaching units and disciplines


The school currently has nearly 5,000 students. There are 8 teaching units, including the School of Music, the School of Dance, the School of Film and Television, the School of Fine Arts, the School of Art and Design, the School of New Media, the School of Culture and Art Management, and the Department of Ideological and Political and Public Courses. Affiliated secondary art school. The disciplines and majors are mainly art, covering 5 first-level disciplines of art theory, music and dance, drama and film, fine arts, and design, 1 second-level discipline of cultural industry management, and 24 undergraduate majors. There are two first-level academic degree authorization points for music and dance, fine arts, and 8 professional master of arts (MFA) authorization points for music, dance, opera, fine arts, and art design.


There are 1 national quality course, 1 national characteristic brand major, 1 national quality resource sharing course; 6 autonomous region-level quality courses, 10 autonomous region-level brand majors, 1 autonomous region key construction subject, and autonomous region university humanities 1 key research base for social sciences. It has successively established the "Inner Mongolian Mongolian Youth Chorus Art Talent Training Base", "Inner Mongolia Animation Industry R&D and Talent Training Base", "Inner Mongolia Leather Art Industrialization Project Demonstration Base", "Autonomous Region University Ethnic Art Research Base", ethnic art teaching and Research base, cultural industry research center, "Northern Grassland Music Culture Research and Inheritance Base of the National Folk Literature Development Center of the Ministry of Culture", etc.

Signed inter-school cooperation agreements with the University of Vermont in the United States, the Vermont Arts Center in the United States, the University of Illinois in the United States, the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, the Mongolian University of Culture and Arts, the Mongolian Music and Dance Academy, and the Mongolian National University of Science and Technology, and the University of Kentucky in the United States The 2+2, 3+1 cooperation agreement on running schools has been established, and the Sino-U.S. "Ma Cultural Week" and "Cultural and Art Week" activities have been held.
