Inner Mongolia Northern Vocational and Technical College is located in the university town of Hohhot, the capital of the autonomous region. It was founded in 1984. It is a full-time comprehensive general higher education college approved by the People’s Government of the Autonomous Region, filed by the Ministry of Education, and the state plans to enroll students in a unified manner. The college has distinctive nursing and medical professional characteristics. It is the only practical teaching base college of its kind that is supported by the central government. It enjoys the advantage of separate examination enrollment in terms of policy. It has been successively rated as "Model Higher Vocational College of Autonomous Region", Excellent School Running Unit, "Demonstration School for School Management by Law", "Top 100 Employment Demonstration", "Alma Mater of 100 Excellent Students" by the Education Department.
The college covers an area of 521 acres, with a building area of 120,000 square meters, a total value of more than 30 million yuan in teaching equipment, and more than 300,000 books and materials of various kinds. There are standardized training bases for nursing, construction, electromechanical, accounting, and auto repair; the training center has more than 60 training centers for traditional Chinese medicine preparations, engineering measurement training rooms, and computer rooms; it also has the affiliated hospital of Inner Mongolia North Vocational and Technical College , Rural Medical Newspaper, Shengbang Driving School, Xincheng Auto Repair Factory, the college has also established teaching relationships with more than 10 tertiary A hospitals, and established more than 60 off-campus training bases. The college focuses on higher vocational education, and has both secondary vocational education and adult continuing education functions. The college has a school of nursing, a school of automobile, a school of continuing education, a department of Chinese medicine, a department of science and engineering, a department of economics and management, a vocational training center, a skill appraisal center, and a car driver training center. Nursing, drug production technology, acupuncture and massage, and computerized accounting 21 majors, including engineering cost. Gradually form a professional cluster featuring medicine and nursing majors, science and engineering and economics and management majors as the support, focusing on the development of higher vocational education as the focus, secondary and junior college renewal education, and continuing education as the supplementary development pattern.
