Ordos Institute of Applied Technology

Ordos Institute of Applied Technology is a full-time general undergraduate college established on the basis of educational resources such as Ordos College of Inner Mongolia University, Inner Mongolia University of Technology, School of Mining, Inner Mongolia Medical University, Ordos College, and was formally established on April 28, 2015 with the approval of the Ministry of Education. It is the first undergraduate college named "Applied Technology" approved by the Ministry of Education during the transformation and development of local colleges and universities in my country.


The college covers an area of 1616.9 acres (including 1,293 acres of Kangbashi campus and 323.9 acres of Dongsheng campus), with a building area of 261,000 square meters, a total fixed asset value of 1224.6336 million yuan, and a total value of 145,297,400 teaching and research equipment assets. The college focuses on undergraduate education, cultivating applied and technical talents needed for regional economic and social development. The college currently has 11 teaching departments and 2 teaching assistant units. In 2019, it completed the establishment of a large aircraft college and opened 3 professional directions based on the existing undergraduate majors. Now it offers transportation, mechanical engineering, automobile service engineering, and chemical engineering. And technology, materials chemistry, applied chemistry, civil engineering, engineering cost, mineral resources engineering, automation, electrical engineering and automation, electronic information science and technology, computer science and technology, data science and big data technology, music performance, dance performance , Nursing, Medical Laboratory Technology, Optometry, Medical Imaging Technology, Tourism Management and Service Education, Social Work, Financial Management Disciplinary professional system.


There are 483 faculty members, including 349 full-time teachers, accounting for 72% of the total number of faculty members. There are 115 full-time teachers with deputy senior titles or above, accounting for 33% of the total number of full-time teachers. There are 159 "double-qualified" teachers. Accounted for 46% of the total number of full-time teachers. Among the teachers, there are 1 specially-appointed academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and 27 master's tutors. Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region "Grassland Talents" project talents 2 people, autonomous region "New Century 321 Talent Project" second-level talents 2 people, autonomous region "high school teaching teacher" 1 person, autonomous region "teaching talents" 4 people, Ordos city "grassland talents" 9 people, 7 "Ordos Talents", 7 "Ordos City Outstanding Young Talents", and 2 experts enjoying the special allowance of Ordos City Government. The professional level of the full-time teachers satisfies the needs of cultivating high-quality application-oriented talents.


The college has one autonomous region-level academician expert workstation, that is, the academician expert workstation of mine geology and environment hosted by Wu Qiang, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and special-appointed professor of the college. One autonomous region-level crowd-creation space, namely the "Cloud·Smart Workshop" of the Department of Mechanical and Traffic Engineering, has been built as the first intelligent manufacturing experimental training center in the region. There are 2 autonomous region-level teaching experiment demonstration centers and 2 autonomous region-level teaching teams.


There are currently 6,809 students, including 4979 undergraduates. Students have won 18 national awards and 57 awards at the autonomous region level in various competitions. In 2019, our students won the gold medal in the finals of the Inner Mongolia Division of the China "Internet +" College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. Among the graduates, 280 were admitted to master's degree candidates, and the college’s employment rate was over 92%.


The college has carried out cooperation and exchanges with many overseas universities such as Weber State University in the United States, Vladivostok National University of Economics and Service in Russia, and CITI University in Mongolia. In terms of technology development, transformation of scientific research results, platform construction, talent training, etc., cooperation intentions were reached, and six higher vocational colleges including Baotou Vocational and Technical College and Inner Mongolia Vocational College of Chemical Technology signed joint vocational undergraduate education agreements. Actively promote school-enterprise cooperation, and sign school-enterprise cooperation agreements with many companies such as Huazhong CNC, Siemens, Chery Automobile, and the National Health Industry Enterprise Management Association.
