Baotou Iron and Steel Vocational and Technical College is located in the first batch of national civilized cities and beautiful grassland steel city Baotou Steel (Group) Corporation. In 2011, Baotou Steel invested 280 million yuan to renovate and expand the old campus. The new campus has a construction area of 160,000 square meters. Newly built a comprehensive teaching building of nearly 23,000 square meters, with 87 classrooms, 14 lecture classrooms and a lecture hall that can accommodate 500 people; a training building of 8,832 square meters, with 60 training courses including CAD/CAM, heat treatment, electrical and electronics, etc. Laboratory: There are 4 simulation laboratories for sintering ironmaking, steelmaking, steel rolling, cranes, etc., and five mechatronics training rooms. The practice plant covers an area of 3195 square meters, has 5 practice workshops, including machining, numerical control, and electrical engineering, 72 sets of various training equipment, and 92 training stations. The library has 11,000 square meters, the student dormitory building has 20,000 square meters, and the student service center has more than 3,000 square meters. The college has 11 departments for teaching and 25 majors, covering metallurgy, electromechanical, computer, construction, logistics, management and other majors closely related to local industries. At present, the college has more than 6000 students, 542 faculty members, and 305 full-time teachers.
