Xing'an Vocational and Technical College is located in Ulanhot, at the southern foot of the Greater Xing'an Mountains. Ulanhot City is the place where the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region government was established, and is known as "Inner Mongolia Yan'an".
Xing’an Vocational and Technical College was established in 2001 with the approval of the People’s Government of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It is a higher vocational college filed by the Ministry of Education. It is the only full-time general college in Xing’an League. The college has a long history. Its predecessor, Xing’anmeng Normal School, was founded in 1952. It was the only national normal school in the country and one of the country’s six demonstrative key secondary normal schools. The college is formed by the integration of the former Xing’an League Education College, Normal School, Agriculture and Animal Husbandry School, Health School, Finance and Economics School, Transportation Technical School, and Food Cadre Training School. It is a combination of teacher education and higher vocational education. Higher vocational colleges that connect higher vocational education and secondary vocational education.
The college now covers an area of 500,000 square meters, with a building area of 200,000 square meters, a total fixed assets of 300 million yuan, a library collection of 500,000 books, and a total value of 50 million yuan in teaching equipment.
There are 634 faculty members and 421 professional and technical personnel in the college, including 23 with senior professional titles and 179 with deputy senior professional titles. The college now has 10 party and government management departments, 13 teaching departments and 2 teaching assistant departments.
The college currently has 6,179 full-time students, including 763 undergraduates, 4846 college students, and 570 technical secondary school students. There are 646 undergraduate and junior college students in correspondence education. There are currently 33 enrollment majors, covering five major professional fields such as education, medicine and health, finance, electronic information, automobiles, animal husbandry, tourism, and architecture, including literature, science, agriculture, engineering, and medicine. The college currently has 3 autonomous region-level brand majors and 10 quality courses.
On June 16, 2009, Xing’an College of Inner Mongolia Normal University was established. This is a college jointly established by Inner Mongolia Normal University in its birthplace, Ulanhot, and the Xing’an League Administrative Office. It offers four major undergraduate education in tourism, art design, computer, and pre-school education. Thanks to the unremitting efforts of Inner Mongolia Normal University and Xing’an Vocational and Technical College, the quality of running schools has been improved year by year. Over the past six years, most of the undergraduates trained have been employed in the league. "Xing'an College of Inner Mongolia Normal University" has made contributions to the higher vocational education of Xing'an League and the economic and social development of Xing'an League.
The college has extensive cooperation projects with many universities at home and abroad. It has jointly exchanged foreign students with the Eastern Province of Mongolia, and launched a Sino-Russian joint training undergraduate program with Russia's Vladivostok National University of Economics and Qingdao North Institute of Foreign Education and Exchange. At the same time, it has established long-term cooperative relations with Northeast Normal University, Jilin University, Inner Mongolia University of Technology, and Inner Mongolia University for Nationalities. The college has a modern training center and undertakes nearly 10,000 training tasks at all levels and types every year; in 2015, the autonomous region's poverty alleviation and development poverty alleviation and enrichment leader training base was established in our college. The college has established a team of training experts and vigorously promoted the "dual certificate" system. The Vocational Skills Appraisal Center organizes training for 3000 people each year to obtain the corresponding vocational qualification certificates. The college has successively become the correspondence education base of Inner Mongolia Normal University, Jilin University, Jilin Agricultural University, Renmin University of China, and China Photography Correspondence College.
The college pays attention to strengthening school-enterprise cooperation in running schools, forming a joint school-running mechanism of school-enterprise cooperation, industry-university-research integration that is oriented to the needs of students' employment, and relies on enterprises. The new apprenticeship education concept of "master, classroom is workshop, graduation is employment"; adopts the order-based training model, and has successively cooperated with Yunhao Investment (Beijing) Co., Ltd., Country Garden Phoenix Hotel, Damin Seed Industry Co., Ltd., and Aershan Tianchi Famous enterprises such as Cultural Development Corporation and Dumei Animal Husbandry Farm signed contracts to cultivate talents.
