Inner Mongolia Vocational and Technical College of Architecture

Inner Mongolia Vocational and Technical College of Architecture is a prestigious architectural higher vocational school with a 61-year history of running a school. It is the only independent architectural higher education institution in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The predecessor of the college was the Inner Mongolia School of Architecture, which was established in 1956, and was restructured into the Inner Mongolia School of Architecture in 1958 to hold undergraduate education. In 1961, the secondary school system was restored. From 1979 to 1989, a total of 4 majors, 6 undergraduate classes and 5 junior college classes were recruited and trained. In 1994, it was assessed by the Ministry of Education as one of the six key architectural secondary schools in the country. In July 1999, it was independently upgraded to a regular higher education school.

   The college has 11 teaching units (including the "Shanshui Ecological Construction College" under construction), with nearly 10,000 full-time students. There are two campuses in the north and south, covering an area of more than 1,300 acres, with a total school building area of more than 200,000 square meters, and a total fixed asset value of 350 million yuan. It has an internship and training building of 18,000 square meters, with 78 training rooms, which can conduct on-campus productive training in building construction, materials, measurement, decoration, heating, ventilation, heating, water supply and drainage, electromechanical and other majors .


   The college continues to deepen school-enterprise cooperation, and has established 152 off-campus training bases and internship bases in companies with high qualifications and strong development capabilities such as China Second Metallurgical Corporation and Inner Mongolia Second Construction Co., Ltd.


The college insists on serving the development of the country and the autonomous region as its mission. Over the past 61 years, it has trained more than 60,000 construction talents at all levels and various types. They are all over the construction industry administrative departments and construction enterprises, becoming outstanding entrepreneurs, management talents and technology The backbones have made historical contributions to the development of Inner Mongolia's construction cause, and are known as "the cradle of cultivating construction talents in the autonomous region." The college is employment-oriented, and the enrollment and employment work has achieved a virtuous circle.


  The college independently organizes graduate supply-demand meetings each year, and has established stable employment relationships with more than 260 construction companies in and outside the district, including the China Construction Second Bureau and other large state-owned enterprises outside the district, forming a three-dimensional job market. In the past five years, the one-time employment rate of graduates has exceeded 95%, and the tracking employment rate during the year has reached 100%, ranking first among higher vocational colleges in the autonomous region.


   The college has a national Grade A qualification building survey and design institute, which integrates architectural engineering planning, design, and consulting. In recent years, it has completed more than 200 large and medium-sized industrial and civil architectural design projects in and outside the region. The Inner Mongolia Construction Workers Training Center and the Construction Industry Vocational Skills Appraisal Station are located in the college. It is a specialized institution approved by the autonomous region government to undertake the education and training of the region’s construction industry employees. It is responsible for national and autonomous regional architects, structural engineers, real estate appraisers, and urban planners. , The training tasks of high-level professional technical personnel such as cost engineers, registered constructors, and the vocational skill appraisal work of 30 types of work in the construction industry. The annual training and appraisal number exceeds 10,000.


   There are more than 600 teachers in the college, including 34 professors and 196 associate professors. The faculty is strong and ranks first among higher vocational colleges in the district. 353 experts and engineering technicians in the construction industry were hired to serve as visiting professors, part-time teachers and intern training instructors of the college, and a "dual-teacher" structure teaching team with a combination of professional and part-time teachers was built.


   5 majors have been identified as model majors supported by the central government. In 2017, in cooperation with Inner Mongolia University of Technology, Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology, Inner Mongolia Agricultural University, Inner Mongolia University of Finance and Economics, six undergraduate-level vocational education majors including civil engineering, building energy and environmental engineering, traffic engineering, environmental design, architecture, and engineering cost were held.
