Hongde College of Inner Mongolia Normal University is an independent college officially approved by the Ministry of Education (Jiaofahan [2008] No.149) in 2008, and it is also one of the only two independent colleges in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Undergraduate enrollment began in 2008, international student education was approved in 2010, dual degree education was launched in 2016, and in 2016 it was identified as a pilot school for the transformation and development of undergraduate universities in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It has successively won the titles of "National Advanced Independent College" and "Outstanding Private Higher Education College in China".
The college covers an area of 1574 acres. The main campus is located on the north side of Airport Road in Hohhot, close to the Airport Expressway, Hohhot Expressway and Metro Line 1 under construction, with convenient transportation. The building area is more than 220,000 square meters, and there are 6 teaching and laboratory buildings, 4 dormitory buildings, 2 living service and restaurant buildings, 1 library (with a collection of 930,000 books), 1 indoor gymnasium, and 1 11 Man-made football field and several outdoor sports fields. There are more than 30 computer rooms, laboratories, dance rooms, piano rooms, etc., with a total value of nearly 50 million yuan in teaching and research equipment. The existing infrastructure of the college can meet the learning and living needs of nearly 10,000 students.
The college sets up disciplines and majors based on the orientation of talent training and market demand. There are currently 6 university disciplines: literature, education, management, art, engineering and economics, 20 undergraduate majors: English, journalism, preschool education, Chinese language and literature, tourism management, public service management, engineering management, Property management, civil engineering, fine arts, environmental design, visual communication design, financial management, accounting, auditing, radio and television editing, animation, photography, finance and marketing.
The college always regards the improvement of teaching quality as the lifeline of survival and development, and the innovation of talent training model as the driving force of teaching reform, and has revised the talent training program twice. Through the integration of innovation and entrepreneurship education ideas into the talent training system, strengthening the construction of professional core courses, strengthening the construction of practical courses and labor education, strengthening and improving the teaching of ideological and political courses and other public courses, etc., the revision of the 2016 version of the talent training program was completed. Actively adapt to the needs of economic development and social progress, and point out the direction for cultivating applied talents with innovative spirit and practical ability.
The college currently has more than 9,300 full-time undergraduate students, mainly from Inner Mongolia, and the source of students outside the district involves Hebei, Shanxi, Henan, Guizhou, Gansu, Ningxia and other provinces. Statistics from the Department of Education of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region show that in 2012, the initial employment rate of the college’s first undergraduate graduates reached 98.72% (ranking the highest employment rate in the region that year), and the graduate employment rates from 2013 to 2017 were 97%, 96.88%, and 96.88% respectively. 96.16%, 96.22%, 96.66%, for six consecutive years, the employment rate of graduates ranks among the top universities in the autonomous region, and has won a good social reputation.
At the beginning of the establishment of the college, a scientific research work promotion committee was established, and a series of policy documents such as the "Reward Measures for Scientific Research Achievements" were issued, which stimulated the enthusiasm of the faculty and staff for scientific research. In the past five years, the faculty of the college has established nearly a hundred scientific research projects and published thousands of papers; the annual scientific research funding of the college has been increasing year by year based on 1 million yuan; since 2013, an annual "academic exchange activity month" has been carried out; 2015 , The North China Rock Art Research Institute of our institute was absorbed as the 53rd member unit of the World Rock Art Organization.
In recent years, the college’s international schooling characteristics have become prominent. The main manifestations are the internationalization of teaching methods, the internationalization of teaching staff and the internationalization of campus culture. The college employs more than 20 foreign teachers from more than 10 countries such as Britain, France, the United States, and the Netherlands, which have become a useful supplement to the college’s education, teaching and faculty construction. It has successively recruited more than 100 students from Togo, Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, Liberia and Pakistan. In 2010, the college established a friendly relationship with Pakistan. Up to now, a total of 40 teachers and students have been sent to Pakistan, and the two sides have frequent exchanges. With the gradual deepening of the college’s internationalization, the college’s diversified cultural atmosphere is taking shape.
At the beginning of the school’s establishment, the college put forward the guiding ideology of "three reassurances" and "three fronts" for party building work, and listed party building work as the focus of the school's long-term work. The "Three Reassurances" means to reassure the party and the government, parents and students, and faculty and staff. The "three forefronts" means that the party building work must be at the forefront among the various work in the college; among the general party branches of Inner Mongolia Normal University, the party building work of Hongde College must be at the forefront; among the independent colleges and private colleges in the whole district , Hongde College’s party building work must be at the forefront. The party committee of the college was successively rated as "advanced party committee" by the party committee of the National Normal University, and "advanced grassroots party organization" by the working committee of higher education institutions of the Communist Party of China.
In the past nine years, under the guidance of the school-running philosophy of "establishing a school for the public, teaching and serving the country", the college has always adhered to the socialist direction of running a school, implemented the party's educational policy and ethnic policy to "build a safe campus", "strengthen connotation construction" and " "International Education" is the main line, focusing on cultivating application-oriented talents with wide-calibre, solid foundation, innovative spirit and practical ability.
