International Symposium on Industry-School-Academia Partnerships held in Nanchang

On June 10, the International Symposium on Industry-School-Academia Partnerships was held in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province. Chen Baosheng, Minister of Education and Liu Qi, Secretary of the CPC Jiangxi Provincial Committee attended the event and gave speeches. More than 700 leading experts from 25 countries also joined the event online or offline.

Chen underscored the emphasis China had put on opening up its education to the world, and a series of policies were put forward last year to speed up this process. He said the Symposium, now running into its third year, had helped to forge greater synergy among all stakeholders, leading to expanded scope of collaboration, more diversified ways of cooperation and a larger number of positive outcomes. Chen also stressed that the global industries and supply chains were reshuffling in this new era of changes and challenges impacted by COVID-19, therefore it was high time for us to strengthen linkages among schools, professionals, innovative outcomes and the industry and deepen industry-school-academia partnerships. China hoped to join hands with the world to translate more innovative approaches into practice to improve people’s lives and achieve a win-win situation.

Liu said international scientific cooperation and collaborative innovation were the inevitable trends of the times as we were seeing a new wave of technological revolution and industrial changes, and innovations were increasingly hinged on the level of industry-school-academia partnerships. This Symposium offered a fascinating exploration of new forms of partnerships, which would surely help to boost technological innovations globally and step up inclusive cooperation for high-quality growth.

Several foreign guests also gave speeches on the occasion, including Treshchalin Mikhail Yurevich, Acadamician of Lomonosov Moscow State University.
