Education associations hold workshop on President Xi’s remarks on education

On August 19, seven education organizations in China jointly held a workshop to discuss President Xi Jinping’s remarks on education. Vice Minister of Education Zheng Fuzhi attended the event and gave a speech.

Zheng called on education organizations to focus on the following three tasks: 1. Expert insight should be applied to the full to delve deeper into the meaning and extract more thorough understanding of President Xi’s remarks on education, thus providing authoritative interpretations and feasible instructions to guide the practices of China’s education institutions; 2. Effort should be invested to build on existing research and develop theoretical standpoints to produce a fresh crop of high-quality and in-depth academic research into the spirit of the letter of the latest declarations made by President Xi, collected in the third volume of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China; 3.Potential of all media platforms should be fully harnessed and the coordination of party action should be optimized to regularly publish articles to deliver the messages to the general public, so as to create a climate in society conducive to furthering nationwide educational reform.

Organizations attending the workshop included the Chinese Society of Education, the China Association of Higher Education, the Chinese Society for Technical and Vocational Education, the China Adult Education Association, the Chinese Society of Educational Developmental Strategy, the China Association for Non-Government Education and the China Education Association for International Exchange.
