MOE launches a standard spoken Chinese training program for kindergarten teachers from the Three Regions and Three Prefectures

Recently, the MOE officially launched an online demonstrative training program on standard spoken Chinese for kindergarten teachers from areas affected by abject poverty. A total of 700 “high potential” trainees selected from kindergartens in the Three Regions and Three Prefectures attended the cloud-based launching ceremony.

The program was designed to offer training on theories and practice of standard spoken Chinese, language competence in young children, and language training methods, enabling the trainees to provide rotational training to their colleagues working in kindergartens in poverty-stricken areas and creating a strong talent pipeline for the improvement of teacher quality in preschool language training.

The program was conducted online through the Online Teaching and Learning Platform of East China Normal University.
