MOE establishes new curriculum standards for secondary vocational schools

The Ministry of Education (MOE) recently established new curriculum standards for three subjects taught in secondary vocational schools: Ideological and Political Education, Chinese Language and History. The new standards are largely aligned with those set for senior middle schools, and are thus highly coherent with standards in compulsory education in primary and junior middle schools. According to the new standards, the three core subjects will be more closely related to real life and professional situations, and aim to better prepare students to become skilled professionals with a good work ethic and commitment to excellence.

The MOE will organize the authoring and compilation of new standards-based textbooks, and host related teacher training at the local level.
