The school was founded in 1923, and has gone through historical periods such as the Sixth Normal School of Zhili, South Hebei Construction College, Hebei Provincial Jixian Normal School, Hebei Jixian Normal School, etc., moved from Jizhou to Hengshui in 1998, and upgraded to Hengshui Vocational Technology in 2001 College.
The college covers an area of 233.5 acres and has a total fixed asset value of 135.8 million yuan. There are 10 Party and Government Offices and 6 departments including Computer Department, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Department, Biological Engineering Department, Economic Management Department, Art Department, Foreign Language Department, Social Science Department and Sports Department. There are 307 faculty members, including 12 senior titles, 72 associate senior titles, 100 master degrees or above, and 73 dual-qualified teachers. There are 38 majors, recruiting students from 9 provinces across the country, with more than 7,000 students, and the employment rate of graduates remains above 96%.

The college continues to enhance its dual innovation brand. Established college student entrepreneurship incubation bases, crowd-creation spaces, and technology business incubators, developed 54 physical projects, directly led to employment of more than 600 people, received special funds of 23 million yuan, and produced extensive social impact. Invest 5.13 million yuan to build an advanced manufacturing innovation center, a VR test and interaction center, and an e-commerce operation service center.
