Hebei Institute of Water Conservancy and Electric Power

Hebei Institute of Water Conservancy and Electric Power is located in Cangzhou City on the coast of the Bohai Sea and the canal. It is an applied technology-based undergraduate college directly under the Hebei Provincial Department of Education. The school was established in Tianjin in 1952. It was jointly established by the Hebei Provincial Department of Water Resources, the Department of Transportation, and the Department of Industry. The school was named "Hebei Water Conservancy and Civil Engineering School". One of the independently established water conservancy schools; in 1955, it was renamed "Hebei Tianjin Water Conservancy School"; in 1958, it moved to Baoding City and was upgraded to a higher school, renamed "Hebei Water Conservancy and Electric Power Institute". In 1960, it was upgraded to an undergraduate college. Renamed "Hebei Water Conservancy College"; in 1966, moved to Gangnan Town, Pingshan County, Shijiazhuang, and renamed "Hebei Water Conservancy Engineering College"; moved to Cangzhou City in 1970 and renamed "Hebei Water Conservancy College"; renamed in 1992 "Hebei College of Engineering and Technology"; On March 28, 2016, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the school was once again upgraded to an undergraduate college and renamed as "Hebei Institute of Water Conservancy and Electric Power".


   In 2015, the school moved to the new campus as a whole. The new campus covers an area of more than 550 acres, with a school building area of nearly 200,000 square meters. It is located in the Southwest Higher Education District of Cangzhou. It has a superior location, convenient transportation, reasonable campus layout, and a quiet and beautiful environment. The school has advanced education and teaching equipment, complete facilities and excellent conditions. The library has a modern library management system, with a collection of approximately 650,000 paper books, more than 2,700 types of paper newspapers and periodicals, and 11 various electronic resource databases; the school has seven colleges, three departments, two centers, and 40 undergraduate and junior college majors.
