Hebei Institute of Water Conservancy and Electric Power is located in Cangzhou City on the coast of the Bohai Sea and the canal. It is an applied technology-based undergraduate college directly under the Hebei Provincial Department of Education. The school was established in Tianjin in 1952. It was jointly established by the Hebei Provincial Department of Water Resources, the Department of Transportation, and the Department of Industry. The school was named "Hebei Water Conservancy and Civil Engineering School". One of the independently established water conservancy schools; in 1955, it was renamed "Hebei Tianjin Water Conservancy School"; in 1958, it moved to Baoding City and was upgraded to a higher school, renamed "Hebei Water Conservancy and Electric Power Institute". In 1960, it was upgraded to an undergraduate college. In 2015, the school moved to the new campus as a whole. The new campus covers an area of more than 550 acres, with a school building area of nearly 200,000 square meters. It is located in the Southwest Higher Education District of Cangzhou. It has a superior location, convenient transportation, reasonable campus layout, and a quiet and beautiful environment.
