Langfang Teachers College

Langfang Teachers College is a provincial full-time general undergraduate college located in Langfang, Hebei Province, a pearl city on the Beijing-Tianjin corridor. Its predecessor was the Anci County Simple Normal School established in 1946. It was renamed Hebei Langfang Normal School in 1956, and was promoted to Hebei Langfang Normal College in 1964. In 2000, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Langfang Teachers College, Langfang Education College, and Langfang Teachers College merged to form Langfang Teachers College. In December 2004, it merged with Hebei Vocational and Technical College with the approval of the Hebei Provincial Government to form the new Langfang Teachers College.


The school is divided into two campuses, Langfang and Gu'an. It covers an area of 2,000 acres, with a building area of more than 450,000 square meters. The total fixed assets are 524 million yuan, the total value of teaching and research equipment is 159 million yuan, the collection of literature is 1.4 million volumes, and electronic books. 1.13 million copies. The school has 15 secondary colleges, ideological and political theory teaching department, 14 party and government departments and 4 teaching assistant units, forming a variety of education forms such as general undergraduate (college) education, higher vocational education, and continuing education. Talent training system; disciplines and majors cover 9 disciplines including literature, history, education, law, science, engineering, economics, management, and art. In 2016, it was established as a master's degree granting project construction unit.


   There are 18,400 full-time undergraduates and junior college students, 1,399 faculty members, including 937 full-time teachers, 390 teachers with associate senior titles or above, and 784 teachers with doctoral, master's degree and postgraduate qualifications. 1 expert enjoying the special allowance of the State Council, 2 experts with special allowance from the provincial government and experts with outstanding contributions, 20 "three-three-three talents", 1 national-level outstanding teacher, 5 provincial-level outstanding teachers, 1 provincial-level teaching teacher, 1 provincial excellent teaching team.


   The school's strength in running a school has gradually increased, creating a school-running feature with teacher education as the mainstay. Now there are 90 undergraduate and junior college majors. It has 1 national-level "professional comprehensive reform pilot", 1 national-level specialty, 2 provincial-level educational innovation highlands, 3 provincial-level "professional comprehensive reform pilots", 4 provincial-level characteristic majors, 4 provincial-level key points Development disciplines, 1 provincial-level virtual simulation experiment teaching center, 1 provincial-level off-campus practical teaching base, and 5 provincial-level experimental teaching demonstration centers. As the "Training Base for Primary and Secondary School Teachers in Hebei Province", the school has undertaken the "National Training Plan for Primary and Secondary School Teachers" and provincial and municipal training projects for many years. The school upholds the teacher culture tradition of "being a person, learning, and being a teacher", carrying forward the school motto of "being virtuous, learning, and persevering", and carefully nurturing university culture. In recent years, it has been successively rated as "National Advanced Unit of Social Practice for Students of Colleges and Secondary Schools in Summer Vacation" by the Central Propaganda Department, Ministry of Education, Youth League Central Committee, and National Federation of Students. "Advanced Community", was awarded the title of "Advanced Unit for Mass Sports" by the State Sports General Administration.


  The school attaches great importance to scientific research. There are currently 25 scientific research institutions, hosting 5 academic journals. "Journal of Langfang Teachers College" (Social Science Edition) is an excellent national social science newspaper, and "Friends of Chinese Teaching" is one of the top ten journals in Hebei Province. Since 2010, it has undertaken more than 1,200 scientific research projects at various levels (including platform projects), including 16 national-level projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the National Social Science Foundation, and 199 provincial and ministerial-level projects. Obtained 19 provincial and ministerial awards and 77 various patent authorizations. More than 600 academic papers have been collected by SCI, EI, SSCI, CSSCI, and nearly 130 monographs, translations and textbooks.


   The school insists on opening up schools, and the level of international exchanges and cooperation has been continuously strengthened. Established cooperative relations with universities and scientific research institutions in many countries and regions such as the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Russia, South Korea, Japan, Sweden, Taiwan, etc. More than 10 overseas colleges and universities, including the University of Waterloo in Canada and the University of Malaya in Malaysia, have carried out extensive cooperation in the fields of teaching, student exchange, mutual recognition of credits, teacher training, and cooperative scientific research. The school actively organizes undergraduate students to study abroad or cultural exchanges. There are currently 50 international students; in the past three years, it has recommended that volunteer Chinese teachers and publicly sent Chinese teachers go to foreign Confucius Institutes and Confucius Classrooms to teach 79 people, and 28 foreign teachers are accepted as teachers.
