PLA Air Force Command Academy

The Air Force Command Academy of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (formerly known as the Air Force Academy) is located on the banks of Kunming Lake in the Summer Palace, a famous scenic spot in the western suburbs of Beijing, surrounded by mountains and rivers, with beautiful scenery. It is an intermediate command academy that trains commanders for air divisions and regiments, and is the highest school for the air force to train commanders.

The Air Force Command Academy was established in Beijing on September 12, 1958, based on the Air Force Department of Nanjing Military Academy where Marshal Liu Bocheng was the dean. The first dean and political commissar of the college was concurrently served by the deputy commander of the Air Force, General Liu Zhen. Over the past 40 years since the establishment of the Academy, it has trained more than 20,000 command and staff personnel for the Air Force, of which more than 150 have taken up leadership positions above the military, and most of them have assumed leadership positions in the division and regiment. Some senior generals such as Zhou Ziyu, deputy director of the General Political Department, Liu Shunyao, commander of the Air Force, graduated from the Air Force Command Academy. The cadets with doctoral and master's degrees trained by the academy have made many contributions to the construction of the Air Force force and military academic research and theoretical construction of the Air Force.
