Beijing Vocational and Technical College of Industry is an independent public higher vocational college with engineering majors. The school's predecessor was the Beijing Coal Industry School founded in 1956. It began to hold higher vocational education in 1994 and was formally restructured into a vocational and technical college in 1999.


   In the process of rapid development, the school adheres to the development path of "high-end, high-quality, and international". In 2000, it was designated by the Ministry of Education as the first batch of demonstration vocational technical college construction units in the country; in 2002, it was designated by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Education as a demonstrative vocational college supported by the central finance; in 2003, it was organized by the Ministry of Education. In the evaluation of the talent training work level of colleges, it was identified as one of the first eight outstanding colleges in the country; in 2002 and 2006, it was named "Beijing Vocational Education Advanced Unit"; in 2007, it was selected as "National Demonstration "Higher Vocational College Construction Plan" has become one of the 100 key higher vocational colleges to be supported by the state during the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" period; in 2008, it was rated as an excellent college for party building and ideological and political work by the Education Working Committee of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee; 2010 In July 2007, the school passed the acceptance of the "National Demonstrative Higher Vocational College Project Construction" organized by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance. In 2012, it was named one of the “Top 50 Universities in the Country for Employment”. In 2015, it became one of the first three higher vocational colleges to pilot Beijing's high-end technical and skilled personnel training program. In 2016, he took the lead in establishing Beijing's first urban construction and management vocational education group.


   Campus environment and hardware facilities


  Beijing Vocational and Technical College of Industry is located in Shijingshan District, Beijing, adjacent to the famous Xishan Scenic Area, surrounded by green trees, with a beautiful environment, covering an area of 360 acres and a building area of 190,000 square meters.   Department setting and professional layout


   The school has School of Architecture and Surveying and Mapping Engineering, School of Electrical and Information Engineering, School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, School of Grammar and Management, School of Basic Education, Department of Ideological and Political Theory Courses, Department of Physical Education and a College of Continuing Education. There are 8 majors in manufacturing, electronic information, civil engineering, resource development and surveying and mapping, security, finance, law, culture and education, with a total of 35 majors, forming a unique engineering major that serves urban construction, engineering, A professional system with coordinated development of different disciplines such as economics, management, literature, and law. Among them, there are 2 national quality majors, 5 national demonstration majors, and 7 Beijing demonstration majors. In order to further deepen the reform of the talent training model, the school implements the "Brand Professional Construction Project" and the "Key Professional Leading Project" to give full play to the five key majors of engineering measurement technology, mechatronics technology, communication technology, safety technology management and construction engineering technology.
