Zhejiang Ocean University is a teaching and research university jointly established by the State Oceanic Administration and the People's Government of Zhejiang Province. The school was founded in 1958 and was originally named Zhoushan Fisheries College. In 1975, it was renamed Zhejiang Fisheries College. In 1998, it merged with Zhoushan Teachers College to form Zhejiang Ocean College. After 2000, Zhoushan Health School, Zhejiang Fisheries School, Zhejiang Ocean Fisheries Research Schools (units) such as Zhoushan Petrochemical School and Zhoushan Commercial School have joined (enter) one after another, and the current name was changed in 2016.
