Zhejiang Media College is a university jointly established by the People's Government of Zhejiang Province and the State Administration of Radio and Television. It has two campuses located in Xiasha, Hangzhou and Wuzhen, Tongxiang. The school occupies a total area of 1,305 mu, with a total construction area of 566,000 square meters.


The school has the School of Broadcasting and Hosting Art, the School of Television Art, the Huace Film School, the School of Electronic Information, the School of Animation, the School of Management, the School of International Culture and Communication, the School of Design and Art, the School of Culture and Creativity, the School of Letters, the School of New Media, Journalism and Communication There are 13 second-level colleges in the college, music college, foreign language teaching department of university, Marxist college (social science department), university physical education department, public art education department 4 teaching department, continuing education college, entrepreneurship college, and there are full-time schools in There are nearly 14,000 undergraduates in the school; there are "Media Communication Optimization Collaborative Innovation Center" (provincial collaborative innovation center), "Zhejiang Communication and Cultural Industry Research Center (Provincial Philosophy and Social Key Research Base)", "National Animation Teaching Research Base", etc. 10 research institutions above the provincial level.


   At present, a discipline system with the characteristics of our school has initially formed, covering 5 disciplines including art, literature, engineering, management, and economics. Drama and film science has won the provincial first-class discipline A project, journalism, information and communication engineering has won the provincial first-class discipline B project, and has 7 first-class cultivation disciplines including fine arts; 41 undergraduate majors, including art majors 18, two majors including broadcasting and hosting art and radio and television editing and directing are national specialties; four majors including broadcasting and hosting art, radio and television editing and directing, radio and television engineering, and radio and television science are provincial-level superior majors in the "13th Five-Year Plan" period. Seven majors, including film and television photography and production, animation, cultural industry management, photography, network and new media, drama, film and television literature, and digital media technology, are provincial-level specialty majors in the "13th Five-Year Plan" period. The school has a master's degree program in journalism and communication. Since 2012, it has recruited graduate students for 7 consecutive years. There are currently 139 full-time graduate students.


The total number of faculty and staff in the school is 1,286, of which 106 are senior titles and 284 are deputy senior titles; 2 national outstanding teachers, 2 teachers enjoying special allowances from the State Council, 2 provincial "Qianjiang Scholars" distinguished professors, and 151 provincial talent projects.    The total value of school teaching equipment is more than 300 million yuan. There are 1 national experimental teaching demonstration center, 1 National Radio and Television Administration laboratory, and 5 provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers, including 4 provincial key construction sites and 1 virtual simulation experiment teaching center. At present, the school has 49 laboratories including a comprehensive broadcasting and hosting laboratory, a news communication laboratory, a converged media cloud platform, a radio and television communication and information network laboratory, and a media creation practice base; the 22-story studio building has 17 studios of various specifications. It is a radio and television program production base integrating teaching, scientific research, and social service. The school library has more than 1.52 million paper books and documents, more than 1.35 million e-books, and 45,400 pieces of audio-visual materials.


The school cooperated with the national radio and television system to establish more than 340 production-study-research practice teaching bases, including four overseas internship bases, and actively build a platform for students' professional practice and employment. They are included in one of the national off-campus practice education base construction projects for college students, and provincial college students There are 2 off-campus practical education base construction projects, and 90 national college students’ innovation and entrepreneurship training programs.


Established friendly cooperative relations with more than 60 colleges and universities in North America, Europe, Asia, Australia and other countries, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. Each year, nearly 300 students are sent to cooperative colleges and universities including Columbia University, University of Pennsylvania, University of Edinburgh, etc. Exchange student. The school employs more than 30 foreign and Taiwanese teachers. In 2015, the undergraduate education program of clothing and apparel design in cooperation with Coventry University in the United Kingdom officially began to recruit students. In the same year, the first batch of international major construction projects in Zhejiang Province-Broadcasting and Hosting Art (Bilingual Direction), recruited the first batch of international students. In September 2017, our school and the University of Bolton in the United Kingdom formally started enrolling students for a master's degree education program in visual media.

The annual employment rate of graduates is over 93%, and many graduates have become elite backbones in the field of radio, television and media.
