Zhejiang International Maritime Vocational and Technical College is located in the beautiful "Haitian Buddhism Kingdom, Fishing Capital and Port City"-Zhejiang Zhoushan Archipelago New District. It is a leading shipping professional, marine equipment manufacturing, port trade logistics, petrochemical industry and other majors ( Group) as the main body, the coordinated development of marine electronic information technology, modern marine service and other majors (groups), and the public higher vocational and technical colleges with distinctive marine characteristics. The school originated from the Zhoushan Fisheries School, Donghai College, Dinghai Vocational High School and Zhoushan Sailing School in the 1980s. It was established in February 2004 and was formally established in February 2006 with the approval of the Zhejiang Provincial People’s Government and the Ministry of Education. The school occupies an area of about 600 acres, with a construction area of about 160,000 square meters.
