Zhejiang Vocational and Technical College of Industry is a full-time public institution of higher learning approved by the Zhejiang Provincial People's Government. The school is located in Shaoxing, a famous historical and cultural city, in the beautiful Jinghu New District, with an elegant environment. The school covers an area of 503 acres and has a building area of 230,000 square meters. It is an advanced unit of national vocational education, a national excellent college of higher vocational colleges and a model higher vocational construction college in Zhejiang Province.
The school has 7 colleges and 2 departments, including the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the School of Digital Control Engineering, the School of Electrical Engineering, the School of Textile Engineering, the School of Construction Engineering, the School of Computers, the School of Economics and Management, the Training and Teaching Center, the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Department of Continuing Education.1 The center has more than 8,000 students and 521 faculty members, including 117 teachers with senior professional titles and more than 190 dual-qualified teachers. There are 26 majors including mechatronics technology, numerical control technology, computer application technology, accounting and auditing, and construction engineering technology. It has 1 national quality course and 9 provincial quality courses.
The school attaches great importance to teaching and research work, and is an affiliated unit of the Zhejiang Rock and Soil Mechanics and Engineering Society. The school has always paid attention to the cultivation of students' practical ability, and has invested more than 50 million yuan to build 77 on-campus productive training bases and 165 off-campus training bases. The school has been designated by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security as the "National Training Base for High-skilled Talents", and by the Ministry of Education as the "National Numerical Control Training Base for Shortage Talents". It is the "Zhejiang Vocational Teacher Training Base" by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education. In 2006, the Shaoxing City Public Training Base settled in our school, becoming the first in Zhejiang Province and the only public training base that has been built and operated so far.
