Hangzhou Vocational and Technical College is a full-time higher vocational college sponsored by the Hangzhou Municipal People’s Government. Its predecessor was formed by the merger of the six schools of Hangzhou Machinery, Chemical Industry, Textile, Silk, Light Industry, and West Lake Electronics under the Hangzhou Economic Commission system. Hangzhou Workers College was established in 1998 and formally established in 2002. In 2010, it was rated as Zhejiang Province's "Model Higher Vocational College". In 2015, it was accepted by the Ministry of Education as an excellent grade and became a "National Key Vocational College".
