The School of Science and Technology of Ningbo University is a full-time general higher education institution approved by the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Zhejiang Province, jointly organized by Ningbo University and Ningbo Qianzhan Educational Technology Development Corporation, with independent legal personality, and undergraduate-level academic education. Founded in April 1999, the college is the first state-owned private secondary college in Zhejiang Province to carry out a pilot reform of the university system; in November 2004, it was confirmed as the first batch of independent colleges in Zhejiang Province by the Ministry of Education; in December of the same year, it was approved by the Ministry of Education Special inspection of school conditions and teaching work, and obtained the highest grade evaluation. In August 2015, Ningbo University and Cixi Municipal People's Government formally signed an agreement to jointly build the School of Science and Technology of Ningbo University, marking the official start of the school's relocation to Cixi. In May 2017, the groundbreaking ceremony of the new campus relocation project was held in Cixi. It is expected that the college will be relocated to Cixi as a whole in 2019. At present, the college is in an important transitional period when it is relocated to Cixi, and it is also an important strategic opportunity period for the transformation and development of the college.
