Zhejiang Police Academy

Zhejiang Police College is a full-time undergraduate college that trains high-level application personnel for public security and implements policing management. The predecessor was the Zhejiang Provincial Public Security Cadre School; the technical secondary school education began in 1978; the technical secondary school education was separated in 1982 and the Zhejiang People’s Police School was established; the junior college education was established in 1985, and the Zhejiang Public Security College was established; it was renamed in 1994 Zhejiang Public Security College. In 2000, Zhejiang People's Police School was merged into Zhejiang Public Security College and moved to Binjiang Campus to run the school; in 2007, it was upgraded and renamed Zhejiang Police Academy; in 2011, it was awarded the qualification of a bachelor's degree authorized unit. The school also undertook the task of educational aid to Tibet in Zhejiang Province. At present, the school is the national county and city public security director training base of the Ministry of Public Security, the police practice training base of the Ministry of Public Security, the science and technology information education training base of the Ministry of Public Security, the education training base of the National Central Bureau of Interpol, the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Commerce.    There are 488 faculty members (including 248 full-time teachers), 33 full-time faculty members, 86 associate higher vocational students, and 81 doctoral degree holders. There are more than 4,000 full-time students at school, with an average annual police training volume of nearly 8,000 person-times, and foreign aid training 500 person-times. The school has 11 undergraduates in investigation, criminal science and technology, public security, traffic management engineering, law, computer science and technology, economic crime investigation, police command and tactics, foreign-related policing, cyber security and law enforcement, and public security management. Professional and investigative studies (direction of pre-trial supervision), public security (direction of public security legal system), public security (direction of public security public opinion management), and police command and tactics (direction of anti-terrorism). Zhejiang Criminal Criminology Society and Zhejiang Juvenile Delinquency Research Association are located in the school. The school also has a key laboratory of public security information application based on big data architecture, Ministry of Public Security Key Laboratory of Public Security, Ministry of Public Security Police Skills and Tactics Research and Development Center, Zhejiang Province Drug Prevention and Control Four provincial and ministerial scientific research platforms, including the Technology Research Key Laboratory and the Zhejiang New Era Public Security Governance Research Center, have established 16 close school-bureau cooperation units and 57 teaching practice bases (points) in public security organs at all levels in the province.


   There are two campuses in Binjiang and Lin'an. There are 2 provincial-level undergraduate colleges and universities experimental teaching demonstration center construction sites, 6 school-level experimental centers (under 45 experimental sub-chambers) and 29 training and teaching places such as multi-functional indoor shooting ranges. The library has a collection of 743,400 volumes of documents, 1,765,400 kinds of local mirrored e-books, and 20 databases. It is the first batch of digital campus demonstration schools in Zhejiang Province.


The school actively promotes foreign exchanges and cooperation, with Peking University, Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, China Criminal Police Academy, Yunnan Police Officer Academy, Sam Houston State University, University of Maryland, San Diego State University, Suncheon Township University in South Korea, Australia The Queensland University of Technology, Japan Medical University, the National Police College of Italy, the University of Montreal in Canada, the Aston University in the UK, the University of Leicester in the UK, the University of Sofia in Bulgaria, the Mount Royal University of Canada, the University of Science Malaysia and other high-level universities at home and abroad have established cooperation Relations, to carry out teacher-student exchanges, co-construction of disciplines, cooperative research, construction of experimental training bases and other cooperation. Since 2003, the school has held the "Police and Science" international forum every year. Since 2004, the "Zhejiang Public Security Forum" has been held every month, inviting domestic and foreign experts and scholars to give lectures and exchanges, and carry out high-level police exchanges and cooperation for public security agencies and school teachers. It provides a good platform for students to participate in learning exchanges. In 2009, the school was listed as the implementation unit of the Ministry of Public Security's Project of Introducing Foreign Experts. In 2011, the school was qualified to recruit international students.


Over the past 60 years, the school has trained and transported nearly 30,000 full-time graduates to the public security organs of Zhejiang and Tibet Autonomous Region, trained more than 150,000 police officers, and successfully undertook more than 170 international law enforcement training projects. More than 4,100 law enforcement officials in 112 countries (regions). He was successively awarded the title of "National Model Group of National Unity and Progress" by the State Council, and was rated as a 5A-level "Safe Campus" in Zhejiang Province.
