Yunnan Water Conservancy and Hydropower Vocational College is a public higher vocational school with a history of more than 60 years in running a school, focusing on training high-quality builders and professional and technical personnel in the construction, operation and management of water conservancy and hydropower construction, operation and management. The school has a profound history of running a school. The predecessor of the school was Kunming Water Conservancy School of Yunnan Province, founded in 1956. It was renamed Yunnan Water Conservancy School in 1979 and Yunnan Water Conservancy and Hydropower School in 1984. In 2016, the People's Government of Yunnan Province approved the establishment of Yunnan Water Conservancy and Hydropower Vocational College. In the same year, the Provincial Party Committee approved the integration of Yunnan Water Conservancy and Hydropower School into Yunnan Water Conservancy and Hydropower Vocational College. Over the past 60 years, more than 30,000 outstanding skilled personnel have been sent to the society, and the industry has been hailed as "the cradle of water conservancy and hydropower engineers".
The school has distinctive characteristics. The school has excellent conditions for running a school. The campus covers an area of more than 700 acres, with a school building area of 228,500 square meters. The campus environment is beautiful. The water landscape of the study sea, arch dam, earth-rock dam, three-hole well and other water landscapes are scattered. Internship training facilities and water cultural landscape are ingeniously integrated. . The school has excellent teachers, 43.8% with senior professional titles, 51.3% with master's degree and above, and 62.6% with "dual-qualified" teachers. The employment prospects for students are broad.
