(1) History of the school
Yunnan Vocational College of Judicial Police Officer is a full-time higher vocational college of people's police in politics and law, founded in March 1980. In January 1998, the college was named the first batch of ministerial-level key technical secondary schools in the country by the Ministry of Justice with outstanding results. In February of the same year, it was named the first batch of civilized schools in the province by the Yunnan Provincial Education Commission. In January 2000, he was awarded first-class collective merit by the Ministry of Justice. Approved by the People's Government of Yunnan Province and filed by the Ministry of Education on January 21, 2003, it was independently upgraded and established as the Yunnan Judicial Police Vocational College. In 2009, it was approved by the Ministry of Justice and other 15 ministries and commissions and was included in the national political and law college recruitment and training system reform pilot unit. In November of the same year, it successfully passed the evaluation of the talent training work of higher vocational colleges of the Ministry of Education. There are currently 2,181 full-time college students.

(2) School conditions
The college is located in Dabanqiao Town, Guandu District, Kunming City. It covers an area of 347 acres and is adjacent to the new Kunming International Airport under construction. The college has a total construction area of 44994 square meters (including a branch campus), an area of 107 square meters per student, 19,647 square meters of teaching and administrative rooms, and a total value of 7.9 million yuan in teaching and scientific research equipment. The college library is 2,147 square meters and has a collection of 321,400 books, including 200,000 e-books. (4) Faculty
The college currently has 203 police officers and 138 police teachers, including 1 professor and 35 associate professors, accounting for 26% of the total number of teachers; 52 lecturers; 45 with master's degree, accounting for 33% of the total number of teachers; Nearly 20 people are studying for an on-the-job master's degree. There are 40 teachers between the ages of 35 and 45, accounting for 29% of the total number of teachers; 71 young teachers under the age of 35, accounting for 53% of the total number of teachers. Basically, a contingent of teachers with politically qualified, excellent professional skills, and reasonable structure has been formed, which can meet the needs of the vocational education of ordinary police officers.
(5) Professional construction
The college currently offers 10 majors in criminal execution, legal affairs, investigation, administrative execution, offender psychological measurement and correction technology, drug-related personnel correction, safety prevention technology, application of Thai, application of Burmese, and legal affairs (community correction). In 2010, four majors were newly declared: judicial policing, news gathering and editing and production (legal news direction), community management and service, and judicial information security.
(6) Talent training
As a higher police college in the judicial administration system of the province, the college has been focusing on adapting to the needs of judicial administration work, especially prison labor reeducation work, and has established training goals based on the industry, facing politics and law, and serving the society, mainly for the judicial administration system, especially prisons. The reeducation through labor unit cultivates applied specialized talents who "stress politics, understand the law, fine profession, high skills, contribute to justice, and serve the society", and provide talent guarantee and intellectual support for the promotion of Yunnan's rule of law and economic and social development. Over the past 30 years since the establishment of the school, the college has trained and transported 14,382 graduates of various types for prisons and labor camps and administrative departments of public security prisons in Yunnan Province, and trained 23,340 police officers (times). In 2009, the college conducted a follow-up survey of 3675 graduates in the judicial administration system. The results showed that 13 were prison directors, directors, and political commissars, 71 were in leadership positions at or above the deputy department level, and those with positions at or above the department level. There are nearly 500 people; 987 people have been commended by the provincial bureau or above, including 1 first-class merit, 17 second-class merit, and 156 third-class merit.
