Yunnan Transportation Vocational and Technical College

Yunnan Vocational and Technical College of Communications was founded in 1952 and was named "Yunnan Provincial Communications School". It was formed in April 2001 by the merger of the former Yunnan Provincial Highway Bureau Workers College, Yunnan Provincial Communications School, and Yunnan Provincial Communications Secondary Professional School. The college currently has Chenggong, Phuket, and Wujingqiao campuses, covering an area of 678 acres. The Longcheng campus, which is integrated with the Yunnan Chemical Engineering School, covers an area of 67 acres. The high-tech campus, which is cooperating with enterprises, covers an area of 277 acres and is rented separately. 495 acres of student internship training base. The main campus is Chenggong Campus, which is located in Chenggong University Town, Kunming.


The college consists of 12 secondary colleges, including the School of Highway and Construction Engineering, the School of Automobile and Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the School of Transportation Engineering, the School of Transportation Information Engineering, the School of Economics and Management, the School of Humanities and Arts, and the Yunnan Tongji Sino-German College. There are five industry colleges established with well-known companies such as iFLYTEK, ZTE, Guanghui Jintong, Strength Group, and Nuostar Group. The college has a total of 78 majors, including 8 key majors recognized by the Ministry of Education, 3 productive training bases, 2 collaborative innovation centers, and 1 dual-teacher training base; 9 provincial-level key majors, and five ministries and commissions including the Ministry of Communications. 4 confirmed transportation demonstration majors. At present, the college has signed cooperation agreements with 8 universities in 7 countries; 1952 international students and exchange students from 29 countries have come to the school to study. Two overseas schools have been set up in Thailand, namely, "China Yunnan Transportation Vocational and Technical College, Bang Phakkong Branch, Thailand" and "China Yunnan Transportation Vocational and Technical College, Thailand Bansai Branch". After the establishment of the school, the college was rated as a national exemplary higher vocational college in 2009, and was rated as a national high-quality junior vocational college in 2019.
