Yunnan Police Academy was founded in April 1950 (formerly known as Yunnan Public Security College). Through the history of the Public Security School of the Public Security Department of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Kunming Military Control Commission, the Public Security School of the Public Security Department of the Yunnan Provincial People's Government, the Yunnan Political and Legal Cadre School, the Yunnan Political College, the Yunnan Public Security School, the Yunnan People's Police School, and the Yunnan Public Security College period.
