Yili Vocational and Technical College

Yili Vocational and Technical College is a full-time public institution of higher learning approved by the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The college is located in Yining, the capital of Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture, which is known as the "South of the Great Wall".

　　 College was established in March 2002. It was formed by the merger of Xinjiang Yili Animal Husbandry and Veterinary School, Yili Agricultural School, and Yili Mechanized Agriculture and Animal Husbandry School, a key secondary professional school in the autonomous region with a history of more than 50 years. The college covers an area of more than 1,300 acres, the construction area of the college reaches 100,000 square meters, and the library has a collection of 150,000 books. The college has departments such as Animal Science Department, Agricultural Engineering Department, Mechatronics Engineering Department, Business Department, Basic Department, Information Technology Center, Ideological and Political Theory Research Office, Continuing Education Training Center, Library and other teaching and auxiliary departments. The college has 60 teaching laboratories and 30 training bases both inside and outside the school. The sports venue covers an area of 64,000 square meters and sports facilities are relatively complete.

　　 There are 522 faculty members and 312 full-time teachers, including 92 teachers with deputy senior professional technical titles, 151 teachers with intermediate professional technical titles, and double-qualified teachers account for 50%.

　　The college has 18 higher vocational majors and more than 20 secondary vocational majors, including animal husbandry and veterinary medicine, animal epidemic prevention and quarantine, garden technology, agricultural product quality inspection, tourism management, electrical automation, automobile inspection and maintenance technology, and computer application technology.

　　The college offers general higher vocational education, five-year consistent higher vocational education, general secondary vocational education, correspondence college and undergraduate education, and various long-term and short-term training courses throughout the year. The college also has 256 special vocational skill appraisal stations of the Ministry of Agriculture and the fifth national vocational skill appraisal station of the autonomous prefecture.

　　 In recent years, our school has continuously expanded the channels for running schools and has established stable and good cooperative relations with Nanjing Jinling Institute of Technology, Nanjing Vocational and Technical College of Industry, Nanjing Forestry University, Nanjing Agricultural University, Nanjing Vocational and Technical College of Tourism and other institutions. Through college cooperation, the professional construction and development of the college has been promoted.

　　 The college continuously reforms the training model, strengthens practical teaching, strengthens the construction of training bases inside and outside the school, strengthens cooperation with industries and enterprises, and promotes the improvement of students' practical skills. At the same time, the college establishes the enrollment and employment concept of "smooth exports and prosperous imports", strengthens the work of employment recommendation, actively penetrates into the society according to the situation of graduates and social employment needs, and strengthens the contact with labor and personnel departments, employers, and employment agencies. Open up channels for student employment in all aspects. Order-based training is implemented for all majors, and two-way selection of student employment is implemented. In recent years, the employment rate of our graduates has remained at 90%, and graduates have been well received by the society.
