Xinjiang Teachers Technical College

Xinjiang Teachers Technical College (Xinjiang Institute of Education) is a normal college that trains pre-school teachers, basic education teachers and bilingual teachers for Xinjiang. It is known as the "cradle of primary and middle school teachers in Xinjiang". The school is an advanced collective of national unity and progress and a national civilized unit.


Xinjiang Normal College (Xinjiang Education Institute) is a normal college with a century-old history and profound cultural heritage. Its predecessor was Xinjiang Normal School founded in 1906. In 1934, it was renamed the Provincial Dihua Normal School. In 1954 The name was changed to Urumqi No. 1 Normal School, and in 1978 it was upgraded to Xinjiang Education Institute. In 1989, Xinjiang Radio and Television Normal University was merged into Xinjiang Education Institute. In 2003, Xinjiang Industrial Technology School was merged into Xinjiang Education Institute. In 2012, the Xinjiang Normal College was established, and the Xinjiang Institute of Education implemented "one set of institutions, two brands". In December 2012, Xinjiang Kindergarten Normal School was merged into Xinjiang Normal College (Xinjiang Institute of Education).


The school has four campuses, covering an area of 795 acres. There are 836 faculty members and 553 full-time teachers. Among the full-time teachers, 143 have senior professional and technical positions (18 are in senior professional and technical positions). Teachers with senior professional and technical positions account for 34.1% of the total number of full-time teachers; 233 teachers have postgraduate degrees, accounting for 55.6% of the total number of full-time teachers. There are currently 9,347 students in school, including 5546 general college students. There are 48 majors, covering education, literature, art, management, science, engineering, law, economics and other disciplines. There are 15 colleges (departments) including Bilingual College and Educational Science College.


The school continuously strengthens the central position of teaching work, vigorously promotes education and teaching reform, innovates talent training models, and attaches importance to practical teaching. In recent years, the school has established 30 school-level quality courses, 16 school-level characteristic majors, 5 autonomous region-level quality courses, 2 autonomous region-specific majors, 1 autonomous region key laboratory, 1 national quality video course, and autonomous region promotion majors 1 social service capability project. It has a number of relatively fixed internship training bases both inside and outside the school.


The school attaches great importance to the cultivation of students' application ability and innovative spirit. In recent years, students have successively participated in the "Creating Youth" National College Student Entrepreneurship Competition, "Challenge Cup" National College Students Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Works Xinjiang Competition, National Information Technology Application Level Competition, National Vocational College Skills Competition, and National English Classes in Higher Vocational Colleges Teaching competition, National College Student Entrepreneurship Plan Competition, National College English Teaching Competition, National College Micro-Class Teaching Competition, National College Student Aerobics Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship, Xinjiang Bilingual Teaching Basic Skills Competition, Autonomous Region College Student Track and Field Games, Autonomous Region College Student Volleyball Competition, and Autonomous Region College and Middle School Students' Wushu Excellent results were obtained in important national and autonomous regional competitions such as competitions.


The school attaches great importance to scientific research. During the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period, the school won a total of 129 scientific research projects at or above the provincial and ministerial level, published 21 monographs and translations, and published 1032 papers, including 133 core journals. "Journal of Xinjiang Education Institute (Chinese Edition)" was selected as "National Excellent Social Science Journals of Colleges and Universities", and the "Bilingual Column" was rated as "National Social Science Featured Columns of Colleges and Universities". It has "Xinjiang Bilingual Education Research Center", "Preschool Education Research Center", and "Primary Education Research Center". The school has set up 14 autonomous region-level and school-level research institutions and scientific research entities, including the "Basic Education Research Institute" and the "Xinjiang Social Science Fund Project Achievement Transformation and Promotion Center" of the Social Science Office of the Autonomous Region Propaganda Department.


The school has fixed assets of 462 million yuan, teaching equipment worth 58.84 million yuan, and 690,000 books. It has a 10G campus network (more than 6000 networked computers), multimedia classrooms, language rooms, electronic reading rooms, professional laboratories and other public service systems. The total digital resources are 6TB.


The school is the base and center of talent training for preschool teachers, primary and middle school teachers, bilingual teachers and education management cadres in Xinjiang. Xinjiang Bilingual Training Base, Xinjiang Elementary and Middle School Teachers Continuing Education Center, Xinjiang Educational Administrative Management Cadre Training Center, Xinjiang Preschool Education Research Center, Xinjiang Elementary and Middle School Moral Education Research Center, Xinjiang Elementary and Middle School Teacher Computer Training and Evaluation Center, Xinjiang Elementary and Secondary School Bilingual Teaching Material Research Center , Xinjiang Bilingual Teaching Quality Monitoring and Evaluation Center is affiliated to our school. For a long time, the school has given full play to its role as a training base and trained a large number of outstanding talents with both ability and political integrity for Xinjiang. The "National Training Program", the "Ten Hundred Thousand" project for primary and secondary school principals, the national standard language training for primary and secondary school teachers and the professional skills improvement training for primary and secondary school teachers have become the school's brand training programs.
