The School of Science and Technology of Xinjiang University was established in August 2002. In January 2004, it passed the Ministry of Education's examination of school qualifications and became the first batch of independent colleges organized by undergraduate colleges in my country.


  The College of Science and Technology of Xinjiang University is an applied undergraduate college that focuses on engineering and economics, and coordinates the development of management, literature, law and other disciplines. The college has won a good reputation among independent colleges across the country for its high-quality management, rigorous service, excellent style of study, distinctive characteristics and good quality of personnel training. In order to actively adapt to the construction of the core area of Xinjiang under the “Belt and Road” initiative and the demand for talents in Xinjiang, and to implement the spirit of the Ministry of Education’s "Independent College Setup and Management Measures", in June 2014, Xinjiang University and the Aksu District Administrative Office cooperated in running schools in Aksu.    The construction of Xinjiang University College of Science and Technology (Akesu Campus) embodies the high concern and strong support of leaders at all levels. The Party Committee of the Autonomous Region, the People's Government and the Education Department of the Autonomous Region actively coordinated to provide a strong guarantee for the construction of the college. Xinjiang University College of Science and Technology (Akesu Campus) has a total planned construction area of 687,000 square meters and a planned construction land of 2,856 acres, which is divided into phase 1, phase 2, and phase 3. The first phase of campus construction has been basically completed, with a construction area of 2,300 mu, a completed construction area of 343,000 square meters, and a total investment of 1.5 billion yuan in construction funds. Since the first enrollment in 2015, the Aksu campus has a total of more than 6000 students. Through several years of development, Xinjiang University College of Science and Technology (Akesu Campus) has been built into a smart campus with convenient transportation, elegant environment, and complete teaching and living facilities.


   There are 288 full-time teachers in the School of Science and Technology of Xinjiang University (Akesu Campus), including 104 professors and associate professors, and 246 teachers with postgraduate or higher qualifications. At the same time, Xinjiang University and Zhejiang counterpart assistance universities select academic leaders and key teachers to assist teaching.
