Xinjiang University of Political Science and Law is a public general undergraduate college organized and managed by the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps. In January 2021, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the Science and Technology College of Shihezi University and the Bingtuan Police College were merged and transformed into Xinjiang College of Political Science and Law.
The school plans to use 2,600 acres of land for construction, with a total construction area of about 396,900 square meters. By 2025, it will reach the scale of 12,000 people and the long-term goal is 20,000 people. The school focuses on undergraduate education, combines special and undergraduate education, appropriately develops postgraduate education, actively develops adult education and on-the-job training, and develops Sino-foreign cooperative education and exchanges. There are 17 undergraduate majors, mainly economics, management, and engineering; 13 junior college majors, mainly law, public security, and literature. Based on the existing disciplines and majors, the school will follow the discipline and major construction ideas of “face to demand, ensure key points, give full play to advantages, and highlight features”, create a political and law as the main body, and police as the characteristics, and actively develop science, engineering, management, and management. Literature, to build a professional cluster of public security judicial, engineering technology, language and cultural disciplines with the characteristics of the political and legal industry.
