In October 2012, the first large-scale undergraduate-level and dual-degree cooperative education project in the southwest region in cooperation with the world's top 100 universities-the "Electronic Information Engineering" undergraduate education project jointly organized by the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China and the University of Glasgow in the United Kingdom Approved by the Ministry of Education (Approval Number of the Ministry of Education: MOE51UK2A20121313N).
In January 2013, in order to carry this cooperative education project, the UoG-UESTC Joint school, the first secondary college established for cooperative education, was formally established. In the same year, the "Electronic Information Engineering" major began to enroll students in a plan.
In February 2016, the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China and the University of Glasgow in the United Kingdom were approved by the Ministry of Education, Glasgow College, with the English name of Glasgow College, UESTC (Ministry of Education license number: MOE51GBA02DNR20161735N). Glasgow Union College was renamed Glasgow College, and the original cooperative education project was incorporated into the college. So far, the cooperative education project has been running in parallel with the cooperative education institution. In the same year, the college added the undergraduate major of "Communication Engineering". In 2019, the college added the undergraduate major of "Microelectronics Science and Engineering".
All professional education of Glasgow College runs through the advanced educational concepts of world-renowned universities, adopting the syllabus and curriculum design of Glasgow University; relying on the high-quality educational resources of both schools, the college uses heuristic and research-based teaching models to explore the cultivation of innovative top-notch applied technology talents The new approach aims to enhance students' innovative thinking ability, and cultivate outstanding talents in the world's IT industry and engineering circles who have an international vision, international competitiveness, and a high sense of social responsibility. All professional teaching of the college is incorporated into the Chinese higher education and the British higher education quality monitoring system. Qualified graduates have obtained degrees from both the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China and the University of Glasgow.
