In the 1980s, the art of Sichuan Opera built a bridge between the school’s founder Yu Kaiyuan and the older generation of revolutionaries. In April 2002, approved by the People’s Government of Sichuan Province and filed by the Ministry of Education, Chengdu Art Vocational College was formally established as a full-time general academic education; on December 18, 2018, the Ministry of Education officially approved the school to be upgraded to an undergraduate college, tentatively named Chengdu Art Vocational College (undergraduate); On May 27, 2019, the Ministry of Education approved the following approval of Chengdu Art Vocational College (undergraduate) to officially change its name to Chengdu Vocational Art University. After nearly 20 years of pioneering work, the school has developed into the largest art academy in Sichuan and even in Southwestern China with design and art majors as the main body.
