Guang'an Vocational and Technical College is a full-time public general higher education institution sponsored by the Guang'an Municipal People’s Government and jointly established by the Ministry of Education, Sichuan Province and Guang'an City. Guang'an is a tourist city, a national forest city, a national sanitary city, and a national dual-support model city.
The school’s predecessor was the Yuexiu Girls’ School founded in 1906. Chen Lianshi and Deng Huizhong, the prototype characters of the "two-gun old lady" in the famous revolutionary heroic novel "Hongyan", both graduated here; in 2004, approved by the Sichuan Provincial People’s Government, it was approved by the Sichuan Provincial People’s Government. Provincial Yuechi Normal School was upgraded independently.
