The Sichuan Police College is the only full-time general undergraduate college of political law and public security in Sichuan Province organized by the Sichuan Provincial People's Government and jointly managed by the Sichuan Provincial Department of Education and the Sichuan Provincial Department of Public Security. In 2011, it was the first to carry out postgraduate education for a master's degree in police affairs among provincial public security undergraduate colleges and universities across the country.
The school is the Sichuan Base for Police Practical Training of the Ministry of Public Security, the International Peacekeeping Police Selection and Training Center of the Ministry of Public Security, the Police Officer Training Base of the Sichuan Provincial Public Security Department, the Psychological Training Base of the Sichuan Provincial Public Security Police, and the Battle Training Base of the Sichuan Provincial Public Security Department.
