The Police Academy of the Chinese People’s Armed Police Force (hereinafter referred to as the Armed Police Officer Academy, the same below) is a general higher education institution directly under the leadership of the Armed Police Force and the only military academy in Sichuan Province.
1. Historical evolution: The Armed Police Academy’s history can be traced back to the Southwest Military and Political University established in February 1950. It has been taught by the North Sichuan Branch, Southwest Military Region Public Security Forces Military and Political Cadres School, Sichuan Provincial Public Security School Armed Police Training Brigade, and Chengdu Military Region Independent Division. The Sichuan Provincial Public Security Bureau (Department) People’s Armed Police Teaching Team, and the Sichuan Headquarters Teaching Brigade have undergone nine changes. In May 1984, the Chengdu Command School of the Armed Police was re-established on the basis of the teaching team of the original Sichuan Corps. In 2000, it was renamed the Chengdu Command Academy of the Armed Police, and it was subordinate to the Sichuan Provincial Corps of the Armed Police. In 2011, the college was transformed from a junior command academy to an academic education joint training academy, and was renamed the Armed Police Police Academy. On July 22, 2017, in accordance with the reorganization order of Chairman Xi, on the basis of the original Armed Police Academy, Fuzhou Command Academy, and Guangzhou Command Academy, the new Armed Police Academy was adjusted and established as a higher education institution, mainly responsible for the duty unit south of the Yangtze River. Training tasks for command growth police officers, mobile unit command growth police officers, and traffic unit command growth police officers.
2. Geographical Location: The headquarters of the college is located in Shuangliu District, Chengdu, 18 kilometers north of Chengdu city center, adjacent to Shuangliu International Airport, and 20 kilometers south of the ancient town of Huanglong River in 2000. It has been an important land and water and military center since ancient times. The training base of the college is located in Baiyun District, Guangzhou.
3. Subjects: The college has operational command, military big data engineering, command information system engineering, philosophy, law, ideological and political education, Chinese language and literature, journalism and communication, history, mathematics, physics, applied psychology There are 18 majors in science, mechanical engineering, electronic science and technology, computer science and technology, information security, road bridge and river crossing engineering, management science and engineering.
4. Teaching facilities: The college has vigorously strengthened the construction of informatization teaching. Multimedia classrooms, ladder classrooms, electronic reading rooms, language rooms, computer rooms, laboratories, lecture halls, training centers and non-linear TV video editing rooms are fully equipped. The campus network was completed in 2002 and opened to the military academies campus network, realizing multimedia teaching and networking. The library covers an area of more than 5,400 square meters, with a collection of more than 200,000 paper books, more than 300,000 types of electronic books, more than 400 types of Chinese periodicals, more than 20 types of newspapers, and multiple reading rooms. Build a digital library system that integrates general resources and characteristic resources. It has domestic mainstream journal papers, dissertations, and excellent courses from domestic and foreign universities. It also builds its own full-text database of military journals, with a total amount of digital resources of 30TB.
5. Teaching and research:
Since the transformation of the college, it has actively improved the level of teaching and research. Has undertaken more than 20 national-level topics such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the National Social Science Fund, 60 military and armed police force-level topics, and more than 60 provincial and ministerial-level topics; 19 military-level teaching and scientific research awards, armed police force There are more than 30 awards at the national level and more than 10 awards at the provincial and ministerial level; more than 200 monographs and textbooks have been published; the college has also vigorously carried out student innovation and practice activities, and participated in the "National College Student Model United Nations Conference", "National College Student English Debate Competition", and "CCTV Hope Star English Style Contest", "National Research Aeromodelling Contest", "National College Student Mathematical Modeling Contest (MCM)", "National College Student Electronic Design Contest", "National War Chess Game Contest" and other domestic and foreign college student innovation competitions, the number of participants and The number of award winners has increased year by year. The "10+1" military-civilian integrated teaching and research model explored by our college has created a precedent for military-civilian joint education. It has developed in-depth cooperation with key universities and scientific research institutes in the area to support each other in teaching and joint research in scientific research. 6. Main achievements: Since the establishment of the academy, it has successively sent more than 10,000 commanding and growing cadres to the army. The "Armed Police Primary Command" has been listed as the key construction discipline of the army's "2110 Project", and the "Armed Police Tactics" has been rated as a comprehensive Military "100 high-quality courses", more than 40 award-winning scientific research achievements, 20 national patents, 35 person-times won the "Gold Award" and "Silver Award" for educating talents in military academies. Excellent completion of the "March 14" Tibetan area stability maintenance, "5·12" Wenchuan and "4·20" Lushan earthquake relief missions, was commended by the State Council and the Central Military Commission as an "Advanced Unit for Earthquake Relief", and "Top Ten in the Army" emerged "Learning to become a model soldier" Wu Rongchun, "China's top ten loyal guards of the Armed Police" Lei Min, Wang Jianguo, and Wang Pianpian, famous teachers of the Armed Police Force Xue Zhenzhong and Tao Yingqi, and one of the top 100 "upward and good young people" Liao Qiwei and other advanced models.
