Chengdu Neusoft College is a private general higher education institution approved by the Ministry of Education and funded by Neusoft. In 2003, with the approval of the Sichuan Provincial People's Government, Chengdu Neusoft Information Technology Vocational College was established to carry out higher vocational education; in 2003, the school was identified by the Ministry of Education as one of the first 35 national-level demonstrative software vocational technical colleges. In 2011, it was upgraded to an undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education and renamed as Chengdu Neusoft College, becoming the first independent private general undergraduate college in Sichuan Province; passed the evaluation of a new undergraduate college for bachelor's degree in 2015; became a privately-run college in Sichuan in 2016 The president unit of the Education Association; in 2021, it successfully passed the qualification assessment of undergraduate teaching work in ordinary colleges and universities, and became the first private university in Sichuan Province to pass the assessment.
The school is located in the world natural and cultural heritage-Dujiangyan and Qingcheng Mountain National 5A-level scenic spots. It covers an area of 528,500 square meters and currently has more than 13,000 students. The school currently has 28 undergraduate majors, including engineering, literature, management, art, and medicine. The majors involve data science and big data technology, computer science and technology, Internet of Things engineering, intelligent medical engineering, etc., and are facing the whole country 31 provinces (municipalities, autonomous regions) have enrolled students. At present, 7 courses have been approved as ideological and political demonstration courses, and 22 provincial-level project majors, including 6 applied demonstration majors in Sichuan Province and 6 first-class undergraduate majors in Sichuan Province.
Adhering to the school-running philosophy of "education creates student value", the school has clarified the application-oriented school positioning to serve the IT industry and regional economic development, implemented the TOPCARES integrated talent training model, and has trained more than 30,000 graduates for the society. In the past three years, more than 1,400 people have won awards at or above the provincial level. The average employment rate of undergraduate graduates has reached 94.5%. The quality of talent training has been widely recognized by employers and all walks of life.
The school actively carries out innovation and entrepreneurship education. In 2004, it established the Student Office & Venture Office (SOVO) to integrate innovation and entrepreneurship education into the entire process of talent training.
