Introduction to Chengdu University of Arts and Science
Chengdu University of Arts and Science is an undergraduate university in Sichuan Province, founded in 1999. The school was formed by the merger of the Sichuan Normal University School of Culture and Communication and the Sichuan Normal University International Business School established in 1999. In 2004, it was approved by the Ministry of Education as an independent college. In 2014, the Ministry of Education approved it to be transformed into an independent undergraduate college. The school has two garden-style campuses, Jintang and Honghe.
The school takes “implementing holistic education, creating evergreen institutions, and cultivating a happy life" as its development vision, and its goal is to build a modern application-oriented university with holistic education as its distinctive feature. The school currently has 10 majors including literature, economics, management, law, science, engineering, art, teaching, medicine, agriculture, etc., 66 majors; 18 teaching units, 8 scientific research institutions; 1 Sichuan talent Training model innovation experimental zone, 1 outstanding engineer education training plan; 3 provincial-level quality courses, 2 provincial-level teaching teams, 3 provincial-level applied demonstration majors, 2 provincial-level experimental teaching demonstration centers, and 3 provinces Off-campus practice education base for college students, 7 provincial education and teaching reform projects, and 34 national and provincial quality engineering projects approved.
The school has a strong faculty, with a team of scholar-type, expert-type, and double-qualified teachers. Among the 980 full-time teachers, 10.7% are senior professional titles, 20.5% are associate senior professional titles, 8.4% are teachers with doctoral degrees, and 53.6% are teachers with master's degrees.
