Xi'an Automobile Vocational University was founded in 1987. In 2019, it was upgraded to an undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education, and was renamed from "Xi'an Automotive Technology Vocational College" to "Xi'an Automotive Vocational University". It is the first batch of undergraduate-level vocational education pilot colleges in the country, the only provincial undergraduate-level vocational university named after a car in Shaanxi Province, and it is also a "civilized campus of the education system of Shaanxi Province". The school is located in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, a famous historical and cultural city in the world, the birthplace of the Chinese nation, and the starting point of the Silk Road. The school is composed of two campuses: Lintong campus and Bailuyuan campus. The main campus of Lintong is adjacent to the Weihe River Jingshui in the east, Gaoling Equipment Industrial Group Industrial Zone in the west, Lishan to the south, and Xi'an Yanliang National Aviation High-tech Industrial Base to the north. There are automotive engineering colleges, new energy automotive colleges, traffic and transportation engineering colleges, and intelligent manufacturing engineering. There are 12 secondary colleges, including the School of Electronic Information Engineering, the School of Economics and Management, the School of Rail Transit Engineering, the School of Science, the School of Design and Art, the School of Humanities, the School of Marxism, and the School of Automobile Modification and Motorsports.
