Shaanxi Transportation Vocational and Technical College is a public higher vocational college sponsored by the Shaanxi Provincial People’s Government. The school is located in the ancient capital of Xi’an, one of the world’s four major historical and cultural cities. The school was formerly established in 1952 as the Cadre Training Course of the Transportation Department of the People’s Government of Shaanxi Province. In 1956, it was renamed as Shaanxi Provincial Transportation School. The Vocational and Technical College was transferred from the Provincial Department of Transportation to the Provincial Department of Education in 2011, implementing a joint construction mechanism between the Provincial Department of Education and the Provincial Department of Transportation. The school currently has three campuses: Wenjing, Ziqiang, and Taibai. The Tongyuan campus, covering an area of 1,000 acres, is under construction. The school has a total construction area of 491,000 square meters and a total asset value of 1.31 billion yuan. The library has more than 800,000 paper books and more than 180,000 e-books. The school has 538 full-time teachers, 52 full-time teachers (3 professors at the third level and above), 192 associate professors, 27 doctors and 357 masters.
