Xi'an Electric Power Technical College

The predecessor of Xi’an Electric Power College was the Xi’an Electric Power School founded in 1953. It was established as a national key secondary professional school by the Ministry of Education in 1980. It was upgraded to a junior college in 1994. In 2007, the Ministry of Education’s higher vocational and technical personnel training level was excellent in evaluation. In 2008, it became the project unit of Shaanxi Province's model higher vocational college construction plan. The school undertakes the dual responsibilities of the State Grid Corporation of China, the State Grid Shaanxi Company, and general higher vocational education. It is the only electric power higher vocational college in the Northwest region and enjoys the reputation of "Northwest Power Huangpu".



The school occupies a total area of 404.40 acres, and the total construction area of the teaching school is 163,500 square meters. It has 153 training (laboratory) rooms for power grid operation, power marketing, relay protection, and power transformation maintenance. It is authorized by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security. Of the 100 specific work types in the power industry, and 92 work types authorized by the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security.



In recent years, the school has centered on national policies and the development strategy of the State Grid Corporation of China, with the mission of serving local economic and social development and the development of power grids, with the goal of creating a "distinctively distinctive, domestic first-class" higher vocational colleges, highlighting "rooted power, school-enterprise Integrating and educating people”, innovate the talent training model of “school-enterprise cooperation”, improve the curriculum system based on work process or typical work tasks, and strive to explore a new era of electric power talent training model with Chinese characteristics, integration of production and education, and school-enterprise cooperation . Nine majors were rated as provincial-level key majors, 4 majors were listed as provincial-level first-class professional training projects, 8 courses were rated as provincial-level quality courses, and 3 teaching teams were identified as the teaching teams of ordinary colleges and universities in Shaanxi. Six teachers were rated as famous teaching teachers in ordinary colleges and universities in Shaanxi Province, one teacher was rated as a model of teaching and educating people in Shaanxi Province, and one teacher was rated as a model of higher education in Shaanxi Province. Students have won many awards in competitions such as the National University Student Mathematical Modeling Contest, Electronic Design Contest, and China-Australia Cooperative Education Skills Contest.



The school-running results of the school have been highly recognized by the national power industry, the State Grid Corporation system and all sectors of society. In 2007, it was recognized as a training base for high-skilled talents in the electric power industry by the China Electricity Council. In 2008, it became a project unit of Shaanxi Province's demonstration higher vocational college construction plan. In 2010, it became a high-skilled talent training base for the State Grid Corporation of China. The Federation of Trade Unions was awarded the National Vocational Skills Training Base. In 2013, it was awarded the Power Industry Simulation Training Base by the China Electric Power Enterprise Federation. In 2018, he was selected as one of the “Top 50 Chinese Enterprise Universities”, and in 2020, he won the National Power Industry Skilled Talent Cultivation Outstanding Contribution Award. It has successively become the supporting units of Shaanxi Training Center of State Grid Corporation, Xi’an Branch of State Grid Corporation of Technology Institute of Technology, Xi’an Branch of State Grid Corporation Party School of State Grid Corporation of China.
