Chinese People’s Armed Police Force Engineering University, formerly known as the Chinese People’s Armed Police Force Engineering College. The college was formerly known as the Technical College of the Chinese People’s Armed Police Forces. It was established in 1983 with the approval of the State Council and the Central Military Commission. After three adjustments to the system and tasks, it developed into a comprehensive military academy for training internal security command, political work, logistics management, and professional and technical police officers. In September 1998, with the approval of the State Council and the Central Military Commission, the system and tasks were adjusted again, and the name was officially changed to the Chinese People’s Armed Police Engineering Academy, referred to as the Armed Police Engineering Academy.
The Party Central Committee, the State Council, and the Central Military Commission are very concerned about the construction of the college. In June 1993, Comrade Jiang Zemin, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, wrote an inscription for the college: "Be loyal to the party and the people, and create a modern police officer." In 1998, General Secretary Jiang readily inscribed the school name for the "Armed Police Engineering Academy".

Today, the Academy is the only unit with the authority to grant masters and bachelor degrees in the Armed Police Force. 17 majors, 40 student teams, 35 teaching and research sections, and 2 academic journal editorial departments.
