Huaqing College of Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology is a full-time undergraduate college established in 2004 by Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology and social forces with the approval of the Ministry of Education.
The college is located in the historical and cultural city of Xi’an, at the eastern end of the South Second Ring Road, the southern section of the Xingfu Forest Belt in the High-tech East Development Zone of Xi’an. The Chanba Ecological Park has convenient transportation. The college covers an area of more than 600 acres and has high-standard teaching buildings, apartment buildings, libraries, catering service centers, indoor and outdoor sports fields, college student activity centers, information network centers, computing centers, modern education technology centers, etc. The experimental and training infrastructure is sound, and the equipment is advanced.
Huaqing College of Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology is a teaching undergraduate college featuring architecture, civil engineering, management, and art disciplines, with engineering disciplines as the main body, and coordinated development of multiple disciplines. The college has 6 secondary colleges, including the School of Architecture, the School of Civil Engineering, the School of Economics and Management, the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the School of Materials Engineering, and the School of Art, 39 undergraduate majors, and 9 functional departments. At present, there are nearly 10,000 full-time students and more than 600 full-time teachers. Teachers with intermediate and senior professional titles account for nearly 80% of the total number of teachers. The college actively promotes professional construction and conducts scientific research to meet the needs of the society. The college continues to expand the depth and breadth of overseas cooperation and exchanges, successively with Saint Martins University, Northern Arizona University, Idaho University, Northumbria University, Chaoyang University of Science and Technology, Taiwan Shixin University, Nankai University of Science and Technology, Taiwan Many colleges and universities have established cooperation platforms to carry out in-depth joint training, academic exchanges, short-term training, cultural exchanges during winter and summer vacations, and other projects, drawing on advanced school experience, and broadening the international horizons of teachers and students.
In 2012, the college became the first group of similar institutions to be granted the right to confer bachelor's degrees. In accordance with the spirit of the "Regulations on Degrees of the People’s Republic of China" and the relevant documents of the Shaanxi Provincial Degree Committee, students who have completed all the courses specified in the teaching plan and passed the examination will be awarded a graduation certificate from Huaqing College of Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology. For more than 10 years, with the cordial care of leaders at all levels and the support of all walks of life, the overall school-running strength of the college has reached a new level and won wide praise from all walks of life. In 2005, when Xu Kuangdi, then vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and Dean of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, visited the college, he spoke highly of the campus planning and school-running characteristics of the college, and praised the college's use of industrial architectural heritage to transform the school building as a pioneering work and model in the history of Chinese architecture. The college recruits students from 30 provinces, cities, and autonomous regions across the country.
